The Taliban of today are a different breed altogether. Thy have thirty years of experience of hard fighting. They enjoy unity of command under Mullah Omar. The hard-core of their fighting strength mainly consists of young fighters, born during the last thirty years and having grown under the shadows of war, know nothing but to fight for their freedom, against the occupation forces. These hard-core fighters symbolize the 'unshakable will of the Afghan nation', to fight and continue fighting till they achieve the final victory. They have, in fact written new doctrine of war, the asymmetric war, by defeating two super powers in a short period of thirty years, which indeed is a miracle of the century.

General Mirza Aslam Baig has over simplified the entire situation. Taliban, afghan as well as Pakistani Taliban are not in good shape. They have resorted to guerrilla warfare. Their strength has gone very low. They are facing acute problems of shortage of manpower and money. I exactly do not know why Americans have started projecting Taliban as a force to be reckon with once Taliban are record low in their morale and resources

Money and misunderstanding.

It's profitable to have an enemy. American media builds up everything to very large proportions to get ratings. Big sells.

After the Battle of Fredericksburg during the American Civil War General Stonewall Jackson was asked how do we end this terrible war. His response was eloquent : " Kill them, kill them all".

Who are we to question Stonewall. Only way to win a war.

    Period.

Freedom fighters are the ones that the Taliban maim, torture, and murder. The only reason there are still any left is that they terrorize innocents into hiding them until the next time they go out to murder (civilians mostly, since the Taliban have always prefered to prey on the weak).
